Harold H. Bate Foundation
The Harold H. Bate Foundation (Donald K. Brinkley, Chair) funds a number of scholarships at East Carolina University. The primary focus of the Bate family of scholarships is to support students from Jones, Pamlico, or Craven counties.
The Harold H. Bate RIBN scholarship was created in 2014 to support nursing students who are enrolled in the RIBN program, and after graduation, plans to work in Eastern North Carolina as a baccalaureate-prepared registered nurse.
The Harold H. Bate Study Abroad Scholarships (in Global Affairs and the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences) were created to encourage students to travel abroad and see the larger world around them.
The Harold H. Bate Scholarship in Health and Human Performance and the Harold H. Bate Scholarship in Athletic Training are used to support students in the Athletic Training program or any major housed within the College of Health and Human Performance
The Harold H. Bate Scholarship in Health Sciences was created to support graduate students majoring in a health science degree program.
