Sarah Best Jordan and Rosanne Vickery Leahy

This scholarship supports undergraduate and graduate nursing students with first preference going to a student from Craven or Wayne Counties and second preference to a student from Eastern North Carolina.

The two classmates, Sarah Best Jordan and Rosanne Vickery Leahy, both ECU College of Nursing class of 1978, wanted to acknowledge their alma mater with this endowment to help future nurses. Sarah and Rosanne first met when they were ten-year old fifth graders at William Street Elementary School in Goldsboro, N.C. Through interstate and international moves, weddings, babies, christenings, ECU football games, and thousands of hours spent with their toes in the sand, they remain the best of friends.
