The Ochoa "Three Rules of the Walk-on" Access Scholarship (R)

The Ochoa Access Scholarship is funded by a donor that moved to the United States from Mexico before his senior year of high school. He went on to graduate from J.H. Rose High School and attended ECU as a walk-on football player. An underdog throughout his life, the Donor has embraced three rules which have led to both his personal and professional success. These three rules are:

1. Win the battle of the mind.
2. Embrace whatever role you are given with passion and humility.
3. Outwork and outsmart the competition.

Applying these rules has led to his success which now allows him to impact the lives of others. The scholarship recipient must be bi-lingual and proficient in each language. Recipient must be a Pitt County high school graduate that will be enrolled full-time and has demonstrated financial need.
