The Bort Scholarship in Anthropology

The Bort Scholarship in Anthropology is a scholarship established for a retired faculty member John Bort. It is awarded annually to an East Carolina University student with a declared major in Anthropology. Applicants should be sure to note their unique academic achievements, their extracurricular contributions to the program, their participation in the ECU Undergraduate or Graduate Research/Creative Activity Week or similar extramural scholarly venues, tutoring experience, outreach activities, and any other Anthropology-related activities that enhance their profile. Priority is given to fund students planning to pursue study abroad or field school in Latin America.
