The Hattie M. Strong Foundation Scholarship
The purpose of the fund is to provide the College of Education with five scholarships for students in their final year of an undergraduate or graduate program leading to initial licensure in education. The recipient thereof shall be determined by the Department of Education Scholarship Selection Committee and shall be in accordance with College and University guidelines. The Acting Dean of the College of Education (Administrator) shall be responsible for administering the distributions from the Account and applying such distributions in accordance with the following criteria:
1. Undergraduate students who have exhibited outstanding success and enthusiasm in field experiences prior to the final year of the program or graduate students whose life experiences prior to enrollment reveal the same traits.
2. Students with demonstrated financial need.
3. Students who have achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA in the two semesters prior to their final year.

- Please request a recommendation letter from someone that can speak to your skills and abilities and your involvement in extracurricular activities and/or employment. This will help the Scholarship Selection Committee in making recipient selections.
