The Robert E. and Margeryfay R. Cramer Scholarship for Study Abroad
The Cramer Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate Geography major or minor who is planning to study abroad for one semester or one academic year. The successful applicant will be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior who is a Geography major or working on a Geography minor. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required.
In the event no relevant East Carolina international program is offered, the scholarship may be used for a comparable study program sponsored by an accredited college or university, with the provision that the credits earned will be transferred to the student’s East Carolina University transcript. Independent international study or group travel without university structured classes, even though university credit may be earned, does not qualify. A “class-travel” program is meant to be one in which formal classes are taught at a foreign site during most of the program. The student must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited study abroad program.
The application requires a one-page statement of your study-abroad plan, and one letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment.
