The Benjamin Scott Denton Scholarship in Special Education
This scholarship will be awarded to rising junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA in the COE majoring in special education with a demonstrated interest in teaching individuals with a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Recipient is required to complete at least 10 days of professional development at TEACCH Center in Greenville. Recipient will also be given opportunity to attend one professional development opportunity selected by the SPED area coordinator of training sponsored by division TEACCH or by the Autism Society of NC. In addition, the recipient, along with one faculty member in the Special Education program area, will be given the opportunity to visit GHA in Albermarle, NC for a day of professional development. These will be funded by the Denton family. Scholarship is subject to availability.
