The French Priority Scholarship
The French Priority Fund supports students with a declared major or minor in French who has been accepted or is applying to a French language study abroad program in a Francophone country. The recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, must be a current freshman, sophomore, or junior, must have a demonstrated commitment to participating in departmental affairs and co-curricular activities, must possess an interest in international and multicultural experiences, and must be able to provide a copy of acceptance or an active application to a program of formal study.
THIS APPLICATION IS FOR STUDENTS THAT PLAN TO TRAVEL IN THE FALL SEMESTER.

- State your reasons for choosing to major or minor in French and your future career and professional goals. How does your interest in the French language and Francophone cultures drive these goals?
- Describe your involvement in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and in French section activities, especially those events that engage the campus and wider community.
- Describe the study abroad program to which you have applied (name of program; location; kinds of courses you will be taking) and the status of your application (date you submitted application; do you have an acceptance letter?); explain the reasons for choosing that particular program; provide a list of goals and expectations for the program and for the time you will spend in this francophone country.
- Please provide a copy of your acceptance or active application to a program of formal study, internship, or structured research planned under the supervision of a faculty member in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures
