The Freda Jean Fisher Smith Scholarship

This fund supports scholarships for students with a demonstrated commitment to the study of teaching Spanish in grades K-12 and to pursuing a career in that field. Eligible students must be pursuing a B. A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures, Hispanic Studies Education concentration, or Spanish and Hispanic Studies Concentration with the Foreign Language Education minor.

Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and exhibit committed participation in departmental affairs; commitment to co-curricular activities; and an interest in international cultures. Preference given to students studying abroad or completing an internship related to their studies.
