The Thomas E. and Ella J. Evans Criminal Justice Honors Scholarship Endowment

This Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences scholarship is awarded to students in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. Recipients must have demonstrated financial need and at least a 3.0 GPA. First preference is given to a student that is a relative of a law enforcement official (active, retired, deceased, or prior) who is/was employed in good standing with a public or private law enforcement agency. Preference is also given to students who aspire to work in the law enforcement profession. A letter of reference from a criminal justice professional is required for consideration.

  1. This scholarship requires that each applicant provide one (1) letter of reference. This letter should come from a criminal justice profession that can speak to your skills, abilities, activities, and/or community involvement. You should make sure the reference provider is willing to provide you a reference letter and then let them know to expect an email invitation to provide the reference. It is your responsibility to make sure they file the letter prior to the scholarship deadline.
