The Nancy and Larry Babits Endowment in Maritime Studies
This Thomas Hariot College of Arts and Sciences scholarship is awarded to a student obtaining their MA in Maritime Studies within the Department of History. This award is intended to support a promising maritime scholar, whom faculty believe to have great prospects for a career in maritime history and/or maritime archeology. Recipient must be in at least their second year of the program and are authors of a MA thesis prospectus of excellent quality in an area(s) limited to historical and archeological investigation of costal vessels from the 1740s to the 1790s.
